Chaudron Pro S-25: A Killer Single Engine Sport Boat

On the unique island of Malta there is an ambitious boat builder that has carried on a family tradition of designing and building championship race and pleasure boats. For over 30 years, the Ciantar family has been hand building cutting edge boats that reflect the rugged beauty of Malta. The demands are high, boats must be able to handle big water, be built to an incredible standard and look amazing. For John Cannon of Gibraltar, a life long boater, choosing a Chaudron Pro S-25 was an easy decision. The single engine hull is great for running around Gibraltar, which is a beautiful area south of Spain; with the Strait of Gibraltar connecting the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea, between Gibraltar and Morocco.

John’s stunning Chaudron is a eye catching sky blue, in the gelcoat, with a two tone blue and grey interior. The streamline 6’ beam hull handles rough water amazingly. John reports he is very impressed with how the boat handles and from the looks of his social media, he is putting plenty of hours on the boat. For power, John went with the new Mercury 200 Pro XS, the V8 features a 1.75 Torque Master and can run just over 70 MPH. He is also running a Bob’s Machine jack plate. The long 25.6 foot overall length helps it in the bigger water.

The Chaudron is lean and mean, with beautiful lines. Made for the rough stuff too.

With comfortable seating for 5, the stealthy Chaudron can cruise all day and there are not many hulls that can perform like this boat in all conditions. Aaron Ciantar designed the 25 much like the popular Pro 22 model, with a twin step design, a pad bottom and great balance for rough water. The narrow beam not only looks fantastic, but really allows the hull cut through any chop.

Even thought the 200 Pro XS is running well, John is planning on running a 300R shortly. I do love how the hull can handle a range of power like that and it should be a rocket with the Mercury Racing power.

The cockpit is smartly laid out with 2 + 3 seating, well supported seats, beautiful upholstery and lots of room.

In a world where outboards are dominating the boat world in all sized, outboard sport boats are really gaining traction. Practicality and performance are huge factors. And, the Chaudron Pro S-25 is a perfect example. Chaudron builds hulls from 22’ to 45”, including a stunning SV 27’ that can also run a single. The SV-33 is a twin engine hot rod, and the 41 SS comes in a pleasure version, with outboards optional, based on the championship race hull.

We really appreciate John Cannon sharing his beautiful Chaudron with us.
